The countryside is a source of inspiration and a place of discovery and adventure. Yet for some it remains out of reach. Financial hardship, social disadvantage and/or personal difficulties can mean that the simplest pleasures offered by the outdoors remain a mystery.

Who we are

We are applying to become a registered charity. The resources and non-commercial activities of the Countrywide Holidays Association (company number 109365) and the CHA Invited Guest Trust (charity number 275761) are being merged into this new body. We are connected with the Ramblers Association and supported by Ramblers Countrywide and the Ramblers Trust.

How we help

  • The Trust supports organisations that foster countryside involvement and activity.
  • We are particularly keen to provide funds to schools and organisations involved with day-trip or residential activities.
  • The Trust also helps fund capital projects that stimulate countryside visits.

The Trust considers all applications but priority to date has been given to projects involving young people in the North West where we were first established.
