Working with a variety of organisations and individuals, our role is to identify funding gaps that prevent individuals and/or groups accessing the countryside. We then assist with funds to make the trip or holiday a reality.
For evidence of research that justifies our objectives please see the 'Research to Support Outdoor Learning' sections of Trips in the Knowledge Base section.
Our work is focused on people who are disadvantaged or deprived. Examples of people who we seek to support include: Inner city and multi-ethnic schools, young carers, individuals with special needs or disabilities and young offenders.
Our role is to provide funds & assistance to organisations and individuals that need support in order to make a trip to the countryside possible.
Grants are up to a maximum of 50% of the cost and reduced over a 3 year period for ongoing visits and activities. During this time the Trust helps find alternative funding sources to replace it's contributions and ensure sustainability of the countryside educational visits. Please see our Sustainability section in Knowledge Base for more information on this.
