Breaks4Kids initiative
Helping disadvantaged kids to join their classmates on trips and activities:
Breaks4Kids is a charitable organisation, founded and supported by YHA (Youth Hostel Association). We help to fund youth group and school trips for children from low income households, by contributing up to 50% of the cost of their YHA accommodation and food.

This gives children who would otherwise be left behind, the chance to be included in the trip with the rest of their group. The Ramblers Association, with whom the Countrywide UK Trust continues to have a strong relationship, also supports YHA’s Break4Kids through its Ramblers Holidays Charitable Trust.

Subsidising places on trips for children
The Trust has provided financial assistance for school trips to children whose parents are working yet are on a low wage and cannot claim benefits; whose parents are ill and unable to work therefore they have very little money spare for school trips. Schools helped include: Walverden Primary, Hargreaves Primary and Holy Family School.
